Pope Leo has invited 8 celebrities including Spike Lee and Cate Blanchett to the Vatican this weekend to “deepen dialogue with the World of Cinema, and in particular with actors and directors” in an effort to discover “the possibilities that artistic creativity offers to the mission of the Church and the promotion of human values.”

Previously known as Robert Francis Prevost, he was elected to the papacy on May 8 following the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025.

The special audience will be held on Saturday (November 15) at Vatican’s Apostolic Palace.
