Pope Leo XIV concluded the first day of his apostolic visit to Lebanon with a vist to the Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters of the Theotokos in Harissa.
After his meeting with Lebanon’s president, prime minister, and the diplomatic corps Sunday afternoon at the Presidential Palace in Beirut, Pope Leo XIV visited the Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters of the Theotokos in Harissa.
The Holy Father greeted each sister individually and was greeted by the superiors of the two communities, according to the Holy See Press Office. The pope recalled the value of three words at the heart of the sisters’ vocation: humility, prayer, and sacrifice.
The half-hour visit concluded with a recitation of the Lord’s Prayer after which the pope blessed all those who were present.
